NORTHERN MAINE FAIR MAINE POTATO SCALLOP CONTEST SATURDAY, AUGUST 5th at 1:00pm

For most of us from “The County” the potato has been a staple on our dinner plate our entire life. Though we all know potatoes are very versatile sometimes it can be hard to get excited about the same old spuds we eat every day. This contest challenges the best cooks in the County to come up with new ways to present the old favorites. This year it is time to re-think your MAINE POTATO SCALLOP. What new styles and flavor can you come up with? All entries will be judged on taste, appearance and most of all CREATIVITY! The entries DO NOT need to be made with new potatoes

Participation Rules:

1. The entries must be prepared at home and brought to the Ag Exhibition Hall between 12pm and 12:45pm on

   Saturday August 5th.

2. The potatoes must be Maine potatoes as the primary ingredient. The potatoes DO NOT need to be new potatoes.

3. The entries should be at least two quarts. One entry per person.

4. A complete recipe must accompany each entry.

5. Judging will begin by 1pm and winners will be announced immediately following.

6. No Contest Entry Fee. Admission to Fair required.
